At MedSchoolCoach, we are often asked how can I get into medical school without majoring in biology or chemistry. We always advice our students to major in whatever they want and the rest will take care of itself. Majoring in religion has just a good a shot at getting you into medical school as majoring in biology (and possibly a better shot!).
Of course even the religion major is advised to take all the pre-med requirements (Biology, Chemistry, Orgo and Physics), but this recent NY Times article illustrates the MSSM Humanities program and how it requires no science pre-reqs at all:
