Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience and a minor in Business Management. He was accepted to both California and Texas medical schools as a non-resident and chose to attend UCLA. He is currently a resident in psychiatry. Mike served as a full member of the UCLA admissions committee and handled many applications marked as “disadvantaged.” He enjoys editing applications and personal statements and worked as a writing tutor in college. His recent article, “How I Scored a 257 on USMLE Step 1,” was featured on KevinMD.com as well as various other blogs. Mike also runs his own website, www.medical-school-insider.com, which is dedicated to helping premed students get into medical school and succeed once there.
