Tony graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. While there he conducted research in immunology and transplant medicine for 4 years, studying liver ischemia and hypoxia injury. While at Carnegie Mellon University he worked in the Department of Academic Development as a peer to peer tutor in physics, chemistry and biology. Tony went straight through undergrad to attend the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. During his time in medical school he was an active marathon runner, involved in healthcare advocacy, and did research in Penn’s Public Health department. He is currently taking a year out of medical school to pursue a master’s in public health before resuming his last year of medical school.
Tony has over 4 years of teaching experience, both in one on one mentoring as well as didactic group tutoring. Tony is a firm believer in a collaborative relationship with students and wants to develop a lesson plan and teaching method based on individuals’ learning styles.
