Bio

Dr. Switzer graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ithaca College with a BS in biology while concurrently obtaining his Emergency Medical Technician certification. Prior to his medical school training, Dr. Switzer successfully obtained two Masters of Science degrees including Interdisciplinary Oncological Sciences through the University at Buffalo/Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Integrated Systems Biology through the University of Luxembourg. During this time he also served as an advisor to several pre-medical students within the University at Buffalo. His aforementioned training, in addition to a personal investment in health disparities, have resulted in a multitude of mission trips and scholarly medical activities spanning over 20 different countries. Dr. Switzer’s passion for mentorship, student advocacy, and leadership have also materialized a Masters in Health Services Administration through his medical school, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and was the recipient of two leadership awards at the time of graduation. Dr. Switzer was elected President of the Resident Executive Committee during his Internal Medicine Residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation’s main campus, and is currently a Hematology/Oncology Chief Administrative Fellow at the University at Buffalo, where he maintains an active role in the program’s admissions and competency committees.
