Originally from Florida, Billy graduated with honors from New York University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy before earning a master’s degree in cell biology. He then matriculated at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, where he is completing a dual MD/PhD. His doctoral research is focused within computer science. During his third year of medical school, he earned honors in five of seven clerkships, consistently scored above the 85th percentile on shelf exams, and passed USMLE Step 1 on his first attempt.
Driven by a passion for education, he founded a premedical tutoring business after college and has amassed over 7,000 hours of instruction in premedical sciences and MCAT preparation (on which he scored a 522). He has taught middle and high school chemistry and biology in Manhattan, led MCAT courses at NYU and Columbia University, and served as a teaching assistant for both undergraduate biology and medical-student biochemistry at Stony Brook.
