Josh was born and raised outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota with a degree in genetics, cell biology, and development. During his time at the University of Minnesota, he participated in basic science research, served as an organic chemistry TA and tutor, and worked as a medical scribe. He was also a member of the fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon and participated in several intramural sports. After scoring 522 on his MCAT, he matriculated to the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM), where he is now a fourth-year medical student on a research year.
While at CCLCM, he has performed both basic science and clinical research within the fields of ophthalmology and dermatology, has served as a TA for a physician’s assistant anatomy course, and is pursuing a joint degree with a Master’s in Nutrition. He scored a 264 on his USMLE Step 1 and is now researching wound healing in diabetic patients. Josh plans to go into the field of dermatology.
