Bio

Lisa received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University. She has extensive experience as a tutor for students from the elementary school to undergraduate level, working as a math tutor in high school, volunteering with underprivileged children in Houston, and serving as a teaching assistant for upper-level biology courses at Rice. Lisa has also received training to become a professional leadership coach, helping others achieve personal development in areas of leadership. As an MCAT tutor, her teaching methods involve engaging students with applications of the content material to foster interest in their own learning and encouraging a growth mindset to help students gain confidence in their own abilities. She utilizes a student-focused approach, ensuring that tutoring sessions are adapted to each student’s unique learning style.
