Mathias graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, extensive work in Marine Biology and a minor in Astrophysics. He also participated in research in Environmental Toxicology and Population Genomics. His background with research and reading papers serves him well in breaking down MCAT science passages.
As an MCAT tutor, he strongly believes in holistic learning over memorizing minutiae. He will want you to buckle down and really engage with the material, and work your way towards being in command of a subject. As a non-traditional student himself, he has extensive experience working with students from all kinds of backgrounds and helping people find the learning style they enjoy.
