Coach's bio

Dr. Raghu Kiran Appasani is the Founder & CEO of The MINDS Foundation and sits on the board of directors for GeneExpressionSystems, Inc. and the Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship. He is currently a Psychiatrist-in-Training at The University of Southern California where he is the Wellness Representative and receipt of the Della Martin Foundation Research Award. He is a proud graduate of Wesleyan University, holding a Bachelors of Arts in Neuroscience & Behavior and Science in Society and received his Medical Degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award (2018). His extensive scientific research experience led to him being an Intel Science Talent SearchSemi-Finalist, theSanofi-Aventis BioGENEiusInternational Finalist, and a Genzyme Scholar. Dr. Appasani has over 25 academic publications, co-edited four scientific books, has given over 30 poster presentations, and has given over 50 talks on mental health, entrepreneurship, and global health. His passion lies at the intersection of consciousness, psychiatry, wellness, and social entrepreneurship, bridging the gap between western and eastern practices to innovate for the most at-risk populations. His current interests include yoga, mindfulness, wellness, psychedelics, social innovation, global psychiatry, digital health, personalized medicine, and healthcare economics.
