 &lt;br&gt;Adaobi is Nigerian and was raised in Tallahassee, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a degree in biochemistry and a minor in Spanish. During college, Adaobi participated in student groups, autoimmune disease research, and volunteering programs that supported chronically and terminally ill adolescents and young adults. As a lupus patient since the age of 12, Adaobi also volunteered with organizations focused on lupus awareness and advocacy after graduation. Moreover, she worked as a tutor for general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, and the MCAT.
