Bio
Daniel graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA degree in Integrative Biology. He then went on to complete my MD degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Currently, he is completing his transitional year in Chicago before moving to the Pacific Northwest later this year to start his ophthalmology residency.
Over the last ten years, he has done everything from one-on-one private tutoring to teaching up to 100 students in a lecture hall style format. He taught biology (e.g. anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, pharmacology, microbiology, immunology, psychology, etc.) all the way from the high school to the medical school level.
During his time at UC Berkeley, he designed a curriculum and taught a semester long course that undergraduates could take for college credit introducing them to various health professions. The class was so well-received that it was completely filled every year he taught it. His love for teaching carried over into medical school where he primarily taught as a biochemistry tutor for the first year medical students.
For his teaching, he was awarded the “Student Assembly Excellence in Tutoring Award” twice, and is the only student tutor ever to have received this award for two consecutive years. Past students have gravitated towards his teaching style because he is able to quickly identify areas of improvement in the student’s knowledge base and individualize his teaching approach to help meet each student’s needs. After all, everyone has different ways they learn!

Daniel brews kombucha, he tries to grow his own food, surf, ski, and loves to cook. If he did not go into medicine, he would probably have tried to open up his own boba tea shop!
