Rob has served as Director of Admissions at some of the most highly selective colleges in the country.
View profileRob has served as Director of Admissions at some of the most highly selective colleges in the country.
Robert has fifteen years experience in college admission, having begun his career at Williams College shortly after graduation. At Williams, Robert oversaw recruitment efforts across the country, specifically in Chicago and the midwest, across the southwest, and New York City, where he was a popular panelist at high school “College Nights” due to his candor and humor.
While at Williams Robert oversaw the admission office’s publication suite, served as the liaison to the Financial Aid Office, and on the Board of Directors of NECBAC, a consortium of college counselors from private schools on the East Coast.
He left Williams to explore admission practices and work at nearby Bennington College, and shortly thereafter was recruited to be the Director of Diversity Recruitment for the office of admission at Swarthmore College. At Swarthmore, Robert also served as a member of the admission office’s senior leadership team, and spearheaded the overhaul of the office’s reader rating scale and application reading processes.
Rob has been a private admission counselor since moving to Denver in 2015. His philosophy in working with students is to not only offer tailored, practical advice based on his years of experience, but, more importantly, to help the student reflect on their place in the world, their motivations, their passions, and to do so in a way that most students simply don’t make the time to. Helping students realize that curricular choices, grades and test scores are necessary to “get them to the table” in admission committees, but not enough to make them a compelling applicant, is integral. At the “table,” it turns out, all things are equal, and making it to that stage is the easy part. Standing out among a sea of similar curricular choices, grades, and test scores is the real challenge.
Following his advice, Robert’s clients have received and accepted admission to the Ivies, elite liberal arts colleges (including, but not limited to, Williams, Middlebury, Swarthmore and Amherst) and a host of other highly-selective institutions.

Before Jennifer got her start in education, she was working as a restaurant manager at the “Happiest Place on Earth,” Disneyland. While she had a soft spot for the theme park, she had not finished her undergraduate degree and knew that she loved teaching. So, she quit her job in 2008 and made a quick transition to working at a non-public school and attending classes at her local community college. While it was an uncertain time, Jennifer was confident that it was the right choice for her future.
Since then, Jennifer has gained over ten years of experience working in education. At the non-public school, she helped students with special needs meet their academic goals by providing them with instructional, behavioral, and self-care support. She transferred to California State University, Los Angeles, where she specialized in Latin American history, presented at two research conferences, and was the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the university’s historical research journal. After graduating summa cum laude with her BA in 2012, she started her graduate program at the University of California, San Diego. While there, she instructed undergraduate writing and research courses and produced original research on women’s production of art and identity in Mexico. Once she completed her MA in 2017, she pivoted to curriculum and admissions-based tutoring.
Currently, Jennifer works on English Language Arts curriculum development for school districts in the United States. In addition, she has tutored high school students on SAT/ACT test prep and writing personal statements. She enjoys helping students find their voice and encouraging them to share their unique experiences. Jennifer believes writing is personal, so she makes connections, asks questions, and builds relationships that enable students to write compelling narratives.
As a former non-traditional, working class student, Jennifer understands how hard it is to navigate the admissions process. By helping students with writing, she hopes to make that process a little easier. When she isn’t helping students at MedSchoolCoach, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Sandra C. Duvivier, PhD, is an educator and writing consultant with an extensive background in teaching collegiate writing-intensive courses ranging from introductory to advanced graduate. Her interest in consulting began as a graduate student, when, as part of a course requirement, she had to provide feedback on her cohorts’ essays. Noticing her knack for editing, she began to extend her services to family, friends, and others in her academic and social networks. Tutoring in ELA became a natural extension of her consulting, as parents began requesting her services after seeing her edited work.

Working with students from various racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and in areas ranging from the rural South to the urban North, has enabled her to enrich her teaching. She views it as a curricular component to her research, which has been awarded fellowships and appears in academic journals and anthologies. Currently, she teaches in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Medgar Evers College of The City University of New York.
In addition to teaching and consulting, Sandra also works in assessment for ELA. With each writing task she is assigned, she ensures that it not only has a solid grasp of writing mechanics but is also clear, succinct, structurally sound, and interesting. She is grateful for all of her professional experiences and very enthusiastic about working for MedSchoolCoach.

After studying English and Psychology as an undergraduate student at U.C. Davis, Roxann enjoyed writing lengthy behavioral assessments for social workers. Once her colleagues sought her out to edit their reports, she realized her desire to help others improve their writing. She then attended Sacramento State, where she earned her master’s degree in English with a focus on composition and rhetoric. While there, she tutored undergraduate and graduate students with writing papers. After graduating, she continued to tutor students and teach writing courses in higher education. Of the many classes she has taught, her favorite to teach was a course for the University of San Francisco called Writing for Psychology. In this course, she helped students develop a research project from conception to completion. Currently, Roxann teaches college-level writing courses at Diablo Valley College and helps nursing students complete their master’s thesis writing projects for the University of San Francisco.
