Bio

Sam was born and raised in North Texas. She graduated with honors from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Chemistry. During her time at Baylor, she volunteered as a GED tutor, worked as a grader for mathematics classes, and did MCAT, GRE, and SAT tutoring.

After graduating, she went to medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  While there, she helped develop a physiology course for incoming medical students, and worked as a group and private tutor for physiology and pathology courses. She also volunteered in multiple roles as a mentor, educator, and leader. She was accepted into AOA as a junior and served as AOA president her senior year.

She received a 263 on Step 1 , a 271 on Step 2 CK, a 256 on Step 3, and graduated medical school with a 4.0 GPA. She started Diagnostic Radiology residency at UT Southwestern in 2016. She has continued to give lectures to medical students, residents, and radiologic technologists during her residency.

She hopes to continue her connection to medical education and the next generation of medical professionals in the future. In her free time she enjoys time with her family and her dogs, time outdoors, travel, watching Netflix, and cooking.
