Bio

Kartik is a medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. As an undergraduate, he earned a double degree (B.S., B.A.) focusing on neuroscience and writing. His past research includes being an author on a project studying the role of silent synapses in addiction and reconsolidation, published in Nature Neuroscience, and a project analyzing the role of regulatory T cells in recovery after stroke, published in Immunity. He is currently working on building models using AI to better diagnose and identify esophageal cancer on CT imaging, in hopes to improve cancer screening in the future. Kartik took the MCAT in 2019 and achieved a score of 525.

Kartik also has many years of experience in teaching college-level math and biology classes, as well as SAT lessons. As a tutor, Kartik understands the importance of individualizing a study plan to maximize each individual’s strengths. While the MCAT is difficult, with the right plan and coaching, a good score can be achieved; Kartik strives to pass this mindset, along with other strategies, to his students.
