Carrie is an experienced Higher Ed writing instructor. Over more than 20 years, she has supported learners at the introductory to graduate level in how writing can shape how we understand the world and ourselves. Carrie’s specialties include online learning and creative writing. She is humbled to have earned teaching honors and to have published essays and poems in a number of academic and literary journals.
Carrie’s focus as a tutor is on organization, focus, and having a clearly expressed purpose and main claim. She learned this from her days as a writing center tutor at George Mason University. She has worked with all kinds of students (urban, rural, first generation, Caribbean, and international) as an Assistant Professor for Morehead State University, the University of the Virgin islands on St. Croix, and as a part time faculty member for Indiana University and the University of Louisville.
