After one year as an interviewer, Dr. Miller became a member of the Eastern Virginia Medical School Admissions Committee for 16 years. She served on the executive committee for six years and was the co-chair of the committee from 2016-2021.

Bio

Dr. Miller earned her bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, laying a strong foundation in the study of human growth and family dynamics. She continued her academic journey by pursuing a medical degree at the University of Virginia, where she gained both clinical skills and experience in medical education, serving on the admissions committee during her final year. After medical school, Dr. Miller completed a pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center, solidifying her expertise in pediatrics. Seeking further specialization, she went on to complete a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Akron Children’s Hospital. During her third year of fellowship, her passion for teaching and mentoring led to her appointment as the director of medical student education for third-year students in the emergency department. She holds dual board certifications in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine.

Dr. Miller dedicated 17 years to serving as a pediatric emergency medicine attending physician at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, where she was known for her commitment to patient care and mentorship. Alongside her clinical responsibilities, she served as an active member of the Eastern Virginia Medical School admissions committee and co-chaired the committee for five years. Her extensive experience in clinical and academic settings has made her a respected figure in pediatric emergency medicine and a valued mentor for future healthcare professionals.
