Dr. Powell was born and raised in West Virginia, where he completed the majority of his education. He graduated cum laude from West Virginia University and went on to attend the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) for medical school. During his time there, Dr. Powell was an active member of Sigma Sigma Phi, an honors society focused on promoting fellowship and community service. He currently works as a resident at Carolinas Rehabilitation, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and serves as the residency program representative for the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AOCPMR).
