Dr. Wang graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in biochemistry. Following graduation, he worked for NASA, studying the effects of anti-gravity on the body, and completed a master’s degree in systems physiology. He then went on to medical school at Albany Medical College and moved back to the West Coast to complete his residency and a chief year in pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). After completing residency, Dr. Wang worked as a pediatric hospitalist, supervising residents and medical students. His passion and commitment to teaching and mentorship led him to get appointed as residency director for the UC I-Children’s Hospital of Orange County pediatric program, where he led one of the largest residencies in the nation for over a decade. Dr. Wang continues to teach residents and students and interviews prospective applicants for UCI School of Medicine. He enjoys teaching and mentoring students and has received the prestigious Golden Apple Teaching Award twice.
