Sharon has pursued parallel career paths in both medicine and writing. Her first novel, AFTER THE SIRENS, was published by Blackstone in 2023. The novel drew heavily on her twenty-plus-year career as a critical care paramedic while making use of her training as a playwright. After receiving her MFA in playwriting from Rutgers University, she has seen her plays produced by theatre companies and festivals across the United States. Sharon has also taught writing and film studies at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Rutgers University and the University of South Dakota. She is currently at work on a new play and her second novel while working for the resuscitation department of the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.
