Bio

Dr. Demajh (Jordan) graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexual Studies. She began mentoring junior students as a General Biology mentor and tutor, and was met with such high remarks from students that she was hired as a General Biology lab TA for three semesters. Once graduating, she attended the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health as a part of their Master’s of Health Science in Reproductive and Cancer Biology program. She then moved to Chicago to attend the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where she served on the admissions committee among many other research and curricular commitments. She has extensive research interest in qualitative studies of communication between physicians and patients, and has published the first-ever medical ethics investigation of the relationship between surgeons and patients’ family members in the preoperative period in a top peer-reviewed journal. She graduated from medical school with the distinction of being awarded membership in both the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies.
