Derrick has been in admissions and recruiting for nearly seven years, serving on an array of committees from policy to diversity and inclusion. Derrick specializes in college list creation, essay and personal statement development, and family coaching through the admissions process.

Bio

Derrick Rogan graduated from Butler University with a degree in organizational communication. During his time at Butler, Derrick worked avidly with incoming students through his work as a campus ambassador with the Butler University admissions office.

Upon graduation, he continued his love for assisting students and began his career with the University of Indianapolis as an admissions counselor. Later, he earned his master’s degree in strategic leadership and design from the University of Indianapolis. Derrick’s career then took him to IUPUI.

During his time at IUPUI, he worked with first-generation college students (and their families) to educate and guide them through the college application and financial aid process. Compiling a total of seven years of admissions experience, Derrick became the Director of Admissions at Martin University in 2021.

He is excited to join MedSchoolCoach and continue his work with students!

Derrick has spent a lot of time abroad, learning about various cultures across the world! Having lived in both Panama and Liberia for extended periods, Derrick is proud of his unique worldview.
