Having begun her career at Fordham University shortly after graduation, Liz has over 10 years experience in college admission. A native Texan, Liz oversaw recruitment efforts in the South including Texas and Louisiana as well as local markets throughout New Jersey. Each year she reviewed over 2,000 applications and regularly counseled students and their families about admission requirements, financial aid, and scholarship information.
While at Fordham, Liz had several opportunities to hone her writing skills by creating and editing copy for various online and print messaging initiatives. She also assisted with the development of an online virtual campus tour and planned several on and off campus events to strategically boost enrollment from key demographics. Liz particularly enjoyed assisting with application review for the highly selective Higher Education Opportunity Program, which gives underrepresented students the chance to pursue higher education.
Although Liz decided to leave full-time admissions in the spring of 2013, her heart has remained in higher education. Liz began private counseling after several friends and acquaintances sought her help with their college and graduate school applications. She has since served as a private admission counselor and coach for students all over the world.
Having read tens of thousands of applications and essays, letters of recommendation, and resumes, Liz prides herself on her ability to “cut through the noise” and find what makes a student unique. She asks probing questions, empowering her students to find and leverage their own voices to grab the attention of even the most seasoned admission counselor. Ultimately, Liz strives to make this transitional phase in students’ lives less stressful and more seamless.
Regardless of intended major or degree type, Liz has had success helping clients realize their dreams and receive acceptances to the Ivies and other elite colleges and universities including but not limited to: Boston College, Northwestern, NYU, Rice University, USC, Stanford, and The University of Chicago. Liz has also helped several students earn full-tuition and other major scholarships as well as gain acceptance from waiting lists.
