Bio
Dr. Ruby graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University and received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his general surgery residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and was the John Homan’s Fellow in Vascular Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Ruby is a board-certified vascular surgeon and the former program director of the Integrated Residency in General Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, professor of surgery and chairman of the Department of Surgery at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He also served as chair of the admissions committee at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Ruby is a member of and has held leadership positions in many local, regional, and national surgical societies such as The Society for Vascular Surgery and The Association for Surgical Education. He is also the former vice president of The New England Society for Vascular Surgery. Dr. Ruby is a founding member of Vascular Associates of Connecticut, a private practice group in Hartford, Connecticut. He currently works as the medical director of Trinity Health’s Surgery Clinical Excellence Council.

Dr. Ruby met his wife, a nurse, while attending to a patient and was so immediately enraptured, neither of them noticed as he began to turn blue (They eventually noticed though, and he lived).
