Bio

Ajay Kolli was born in Queens, NY and grew up in Niagara Falls, NY. He graduated with high distinction from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and Organizational Studies. During his time in undergrad, he was active in peer tutoring, leading study groups for students taking organic chemistry and physics. After graduating, he began medical school at the University of Michigan. In medical school, he continued to teach, mentor, and advise undergraduate and medical students. In particular, he tutored students enrolled in their core clinical clerkships, where he developed a love for tutoring. He spent a year between his third and fourth year of medical school to complete his Master’s in Public Health at Harvard. He received a 268 on Step 1 and 273 on Step 2 CK, and he scored in the 90th percentiles on all his shelf exams. He also received honors in nearly all his clinical rotations. He is pursuing residency in ophthalmology and has an interest in epidemiological research. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, sports, hiking, and skiing.
