Bio

Dr. Hartwig was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and continued his medical school education at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. There, he was involved in student mentorship programs for current and prospective medical students, assisting with interviews and informational sessions. He scored in the top one percent on the USMLE Step 1 and 2 exams. His success on the exams led him to become a USMLE tutor for MedSchoolCoach. His hard work and academic success was recognized in other ways as he was elected to AOA and graduated medical school with honors.

Currently, Dr. Hartwig is a third-year orthopaedic surgery resident at the University of Missouri. He works closely with his co-residents in assessing prospective residency applicants during clinical rotations and residency interviews. He is married to his wonderful wife, Alexa, and has two very active sons, Graham, three, and Crew, one.
