Born in Boulder, Colorado, Dr. Baumgartner embarked on her medical journey at Duke University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology and anatomy. She earned her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, distinguishing herself academically and receiving the Merck Manual Award for Academic Excellence. She then completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at Duke University, where she engaged in leadership development and mentoring. As a hand surgery fellow at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Baumgartner excelled in patient care and surgical innovation. She now practices at Panorama Orthopedics and Spine Center, focusing on optimizing patient care and operational efficiency.
