Dr. Mehta’s impressive credentials are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his vast knowledge and expertise in the field of medicine. As a nationally recognized expert in medical school admissions, he has helped countless students achieve their dreams of attending top medical schools across the country. His passion for medicine was evident from an early age, as he pursued a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Columbia University in New York City with a summa cum laude distinction. Notably, he achieved the highest GPA in the civil engineering major, a testament to his academic prowess.

Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Mehta was accepted to three of the top ten medical schools in the country, a remarkable achievement in and of itself. He ultimately attended the prestigious University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where he graduated with research honors. Dr. Mehta then went on to complete his residency at BIDMC/HMS and his clinical fellowship at Harvard Medical School, further honing his skills and expertise in the field of medicine. He also completed a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, showcasing his dedication to mastering his craft.

Dr. Mehta has presented his work at multiple national meetings, including SIR and RSNA, and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He is particularly interested in interventional radiology treatments for cancer patients, women, and emergency situations, and has made significant contributions to this field. As a practicing interventional radiologist, he specializes in minimally invasive endovascular and percutaneous procedures to eliminate cancer and pain, stop life-threatening bleeding, and more.

With years of experience in admissions consulting and tutoring, Dr. Mehta is the founder of MedSchoolCoach, a resource that has helped thousands of medical school applicants navigate the often-challenging admissions process. His expertise and guidance are unparalleled, and he is widely recognized as one of the foremost experts in medical school admissions. As the Director of MCAT and Research for MedSchoolCoach, Dr. Tao has established himself as a leader in medical test preparation and research mentorship. His academic journey began at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a B.S. in bioengineering and a B.A. in molecular and cell biology. Recognized for his academic excellence, he is a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi honor societies and was awarded the Jeffrey A. Winer Memorial Prize, a distinguished honor given to the top graduating senior in the neurobiology emphasis of the molecular and cell biology major.

Dr. Tao completed a PhD in neuroscience at Harvard University, with his research published in respected journals, including Neuron, Cell Metabolism, and Nature Metabolism. His passion for mentoring students extends beyond the MCAT. He has guided numerous students in research, helping them design experiments, analyze data, and publish their findings. Through his mentorship, students have gained hands-on experience in scientific inquiry and developed a deeper understanding of how to approach complex problems methodically.

Nationally recognized as an exceptional MCAT mentor, Dr. Tao has over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, gained through his roles as a graduate teaching assistant, adjunct faculty member, and MCAT instructor/tutor at the Princeton Review and MedSchoolCoach. At the Princeton Review, he was the only tutor certified in all MCAT subjects, one of their highest-rated tutors, and a teacher trainer for their MCAT division. His extensive contributions to MCAT preparation include authoring content for numerous books and guides, as well as fostering the success of his students, many of whom have achieved scores of 40+ on the old MCAT or 520+ on the current exam.

Dr. Marinelli graduated magna cum laude from California State University, San Marcos, with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While attending school, she worked for a neurosurgeon, where she led clinical trials and taught biology as a supplemental instruction leader. Dr. Marinelli was accepted to multiple medical schools before attending the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, where she served on the admissions committee and interviewed many applicants.

In medical school, Dr. Marinelli met her future husband and MedSchoolCoach advisor, Dr. David Flick. After medical school, both she and her husband attended family medicine residency in Hawaii, serving on the residency admissions committee. After her son was born, Dr. Marinelli stepped away from clinical medicine and joined MedSchoolCoach. Since that time, she has mentored and assisted hundreds of students in the medical school admissions process and brings a wealth of experience serving on both medical school and residency admission committees. Dr. Marinelli is currently the director of advising at MedSchoolCoach, where she continues to advise applicants while overseeing a team of physician advisors. She is excited to continue providing guidance to students while spending quality time with her son.

Dr. Katzen graduated from Georgetown University with a BS in Biology and earned his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He continued his medical internship and residency in Internal Medicine at GW, as well as completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.

Dr. Katzen is an oncologist-hematologist and has served as the Chief of Oncology at both Greater Southeast Community and Southern Maryland Hospital ,as well as the president of Oncology-Hematology Associates in Maryland.

He currently serves as a Clinical Professor at George Washington Hospital. He was an active member of the George Washington University School of Medicine admissions committee prior to joining MedSchoolCoach. He currently serves as a consultant to pharmaceutical companies and other health related companies.

He has been recognized as a Top Doctor by US News and World Report and Washingtonian Magazine. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the Southern Association of Oncology.
