What Students Say

Bio

Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in language and writing from the University of Denver. While earning her B.A., Amy worked in the university’s Writing Center helping students to improve their academic writing skills. After graduating with her BA, Amy began pursuing a master’s degree in rhetoric and composition at Colorado State University. In addition to taking graduate courses and researching the linguistic dynamics of presidential rhetoric for her thesis, Amy taught introductory composition courses to undergraduate students. In this role, she helped students develop as writers through teaching both the nuts-and-bolts of grammar as well as the big-picture concepts of writing well. Once she had graduated with her MA, Amy began working with the community college system in her home state of Colorado. With the community college system, Amy continues to teach English composition and to tutor writing.

Amy loves bringing her editing skills to MedSchoolCoach and using direct in-line editing to help students improve the quality of their writing. She also like being able to support students during difficult periods of transition when they need mentorship and stability the most. She also has expertise in technical writing.
