Dr. Chipkin grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY and graduated from Vassar College with a bachelor of arts degree in science, technology, & society. After working in the sustainability sector, he completed his master of science degree in nutrition at Tufts University before applying to medical school as a non-traditional student. Ben graduated from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, where he served as a student interviewer and was elected to the Hobart Amory Hare and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. He completed his internal medicine residency at Yale, where he currently serves as a chief resident and sits on the residency selection committee. He will start a fellowship in gastroenterology at Yale in July 2025, and he hopes to build a practice that emphasizes nutrition and preventive medicine.
