Dr. Li graduated with distinction in Theater Studies and pre-medicine from Duke University, where he received accolades in directing and playwriting. During his time in college, he served multiple summers in rural Beijing, teaching at a school for migrant workers’ children. Ever since then, mentorship has been a huge part of his life.
He attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he served on the admissions committee and was a mentor to junior medical students. He completed his intern year in Internal Medicine at NYU School of Medicine, having the privilege to serve during the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Li currently works as a medical journalist and full-time writer.
