Bio

Dr. Yao Liu graduated magna cum laude from Brown University’s 8-year BS/MD Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) in Providence, RI, where he earned honors in economics and biology. Throughout college and medical school, he was involved in university- and medical school-level tutoring, along with peer career advising and mentorship. He remained at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital for General Surgery Residency and is currently pursuing dedicated academic research time. Dr. Liu has reviewed BS/MD applications for Brown’s PLME program and conducted admissions interviews for applicants to Brown University. He is currently involved in residency admissions for Brown’s General Surgery Program. He is excited to work with students to help them discover their passions and determine the best path for them.
