Jacob was born and raised in Fishers, Indiana, a suburb just outside of Indianapolis. He graduated summa cum laude from Lipscomb University with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and a minor in chemistry. During his time at Lipscomb, he participated in peer tutoring in the athletic department for two years, where he primarily tutored biology, biochemistry, and general chemistry. He balanced the responsibilities of being a tutor while also being the captain of the men’s track and field team during his junior and senior year. Additionally, he completed research at Vanderbilt University in the rhinology department during the summer between his sophomore and junior year. After graduating, he spent a year further pursuing his interests in clinical research at Medical University of South Carolina before starting medical school in the fall of 2022.
In medical school, Jacob continued to teach, mentor, and advise undergraduate and medical students. He was able to finish his first two years of medical school in the top 20 percentile of his class, and participated in various leadership and volunteering roles. He passed Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1 on his first attempt, scored a 264 on Step 2 CK, and scored a 734 on COMLEX Level 2. He also received honors in all of his clinical rotations.
Jacob is passionate about teaching and mentoring students as they navigate these difficult exams. He finds fulfillment in mentoring and encouraging students while helping them maintain wellness in the process. He strongly believes that with consistent and sustainable study strategies, students can accomplish their goals and not be limited by test scores.
Currently, Jacob is a fourth-year medical student and has applied to psychiatry residency programs. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and one-year-old son, hanging out with friends, running, and all things NFL and college football.
