Bio

JoyAngelica Chan grew up in Singapore and traveled around South East Asia for music as well as original oratory festivals. She came to Bryn Mawr College for her undergraduate, majoring in History, Dance, and taught social studies to inner-city high school students in Philadelphia. While she received a liberal arts education, her family has graduated from the likes of Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Columbia, Harvard, and NYU.

Following her passion for education and service, JoyAngelica served for two years as a missionary for her church in Hong Kong, China before returning back stateside. Currently, she is finishing up a MA in the Humanities at The University of Chicago and now resides in Chicago with her husband who works as an orthopedic hand surgeon and is also a physician advisor here at MSC!

Fun Fact

JoyAngelica has produced over 10 dance performances - from working on the stage to site specific works. She has also danced professionally in flash mobs and once performed for the reopening of a historically protected graveyard.
