Bio

Katelyn Sawyer is an Associate Director of MedSchoolCoach’s MCAT program, and a Memphis native transplanted to the winter wonderland of Minnesota. She graduated from Marquette University in 2014 with a degree in biomedical science and theology. After graduation she began working in the MCAT prep industry, helping students in their own journeys towards medicine. She scored in the 99th percentile of her own MCAT. Having worked with over 500 students in her decade-long teaching career, she is one of the senior-most MCAT instructors nationwide. Katelyn’s pedagogy is centered on not only teaching students the scientific knowledge and active study habits necessary for a strong MCAT performance but the critical thinking skills that will be essential on both the MCAT and in the clinic. In addition to her MCAT tutoring experience, she has helped to write and edit many of the most widely used MCAT prep materials and practice exams.

Katelyn is a medical student at the University of Minnesota, and when she has free time away from her teaching and her own studies she enjoys reading science fiction and playing board games.
