Pranavi graduated from PennState in 2019, in a 7-year BS/MD program. She is currently taking a gap year to pursue her passion for research at the NIH, before matriculating to medical school in 2021. She has a lot of experience with proteomics and molecular biology, and is excited to expand her research expertise this upcoming year. As a research assistant for the past 5 years, she understands the importance of clear communication, staying organized, and thinking creatively and critically. At PennState, she was very involved with an elite on-campus tutoring company. She has vast experience teaching college-level chemistry, biology, and physics. She was also a biology Teaching Assistant. Pranavi teaches public speaking/ debate, and also worked at Kumon to assist students with learning various levels of math and reading. As a tutor, she strongly believes in making teaching personalized- no two students learn the same way and it is very important to understand that there are many different ways to teaching the same concept. Pranavi is not afraid to think out of the box and teach in novel and creative, yet sustainable, ways. She has come up with so many crazy (the craziest ones always stick best) mnemonics and study tips, and is excited to share them with her students. She emphasizes gaining a deep understanding and making connections, rather than using rote memorization. Her biggest priority is to create a friendly and engaging ambience during sessions, and she strives to remain highly cognizant of students’ needs. Her tutoring style is highly active and hands-on. Pranavi is very approachable, and absolutely loves talking to others and meeting new people. She is very excited to instill in others a similar zeal for science that she holds, and will work closely with every student of hers to achieve their goal score in an ideal manner.
