Tim is a PhD candidate in the department of natural resources and the environment at Cornell University. He is a broadly-trained ecologist and conservation biologist who brings a diversity of research and work experiences to applications in natural resource management, human-wildlife coexistence, and sustainable energy transitions.
Born and raised in the small southern African nation of eSwatini, and with subsequent work and education experience across the United States, Tim is passionate about collaborative and multi-disciplinary approaches to conservation and sustainability science. He earned his bachelors in biology and anthropology from Vassar College and his master of science degree in biology from William & Mary. In his time between degrees, he worked for state conservation agencies and environmental non-profits.

Tim is an avid hiker and backpacker, and dedicates time to exploring his natural surroundings wherever he has lived, which includes three countries and six US states.
