Bio

Victoria Koniuk was born and raised in Northport, New York. She graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University with a bachelor of science degree in biology and minors in chemistry and psychology. During her undergraduate studies, she was named to the dean’s list for six semesters, worked as a communications and psychology tutor, and conducted research in a malaria wet lab.

Following graduation, Victoria took a gap year during the COVID-19 pandemic, working as a medical scribe and completing internships in both gastroenterology and anesthesiology. In 2021, she matriculated to the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM), Carolinas campus. She passed both Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1 on her first attempt, scored above 250 on Step 2 CK, and earned over 620 on Level 2 CE. She received honors in all of her clinical clerkships.

Throughout medical school, Victoria was actively involved in simulation-based education and research. She served as a simulation center intern, where she helped students gain skills in cardiac, labor and delivery, and newborn assessment simulations. Her research focused on the development of simulation models-including surgical abdomen and brainstem modules-and resulted in multiple publications and national oral presentations. She also served as the chair of the Gold Humanism Honor Society chapter at her campus, organizing numerous philanthropic events.

Victoria has over a decade of combined experience in tutoring and mentoring across the sciences and humanities. She is passionate about helping students reach their potential by fostering a strong foundation, providing strategic guidance, and encouraging resilience.

She recently matched into her top-choice internal medicine residency and will begin training in July. She plans to pursue fellowship training, with particular interest in interventional pulmonology. Outside of medicine, Victoria enjoys spending time at the beach, running, playing tennis and/or pickleball, and reading!
