Jon Andre Sabio Parrilla was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Asian American Studies, followed by a Master of Public Health from Yale University. He is currently a third-year medical student at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV.
Growing up in a working-class household, Jon Andre experienced housing instability and food insecurity-challenges that shaped his deep commitment to health equity, community advocacy, and educational access. At UCLA, he was involved in mentorship programs, student leadership, and public service initiatives. At Yale, his graduate work focused on global health, HIV/AIDS education, and health policy.
As a medical student, Jon Andre remains deeply engaged in clinical care, social media health education, and storytelling through writing and content creation. He scored above the national average on Step 1 and is passionate about helping students from diverse and underserved backgrounds succeed in their medical journeys. Jon Andre brings experience mentoring pre-medical and medical students, and has tutored for the MCAT, MPH coursework, medical school pre-clerkship coursework, and USMLE Step 1.
Currently, Jon Andre is exploring a career in family medicine, with goals of opening a wellness clinic that blends clinical care with holistic healing, education, and advocacy. Outside of medicine, he enjoys travel, creative writing, producing digital content, and spending time with his fiancé and family.
