Shushmita, who usually goes by Sushi, grew up in Snellville, Georgia. For her undergraduate studies, she stayed local and graduated with honors with a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Throughout college and after graduating, Shushmita pursued several educational opportunities including tutoring, mentoring, and teaching exam prep classes to students interested in pursuing medicine. Now, she is working on maintaining that devotion to education and mentorship during medical school at the University of Massachusetts. She received a 259 on Step 1 and 275 on Step 2 CK and received either honors or high honors in all of her clerkships. Shushmita recently earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Investigation and is now completing her 4th year of medical school with the goal of matching into an internal medicine residency next year. In her free time, Shushmita plays piano, explores new bike paths around the area, makes unique crafts with perler beads, and does her best to stay warm in Massachusetts. Her goal for her students is to make sure they understand both the concepts and the exam so that they can achieve their goals.
