Bio

Claire was born in California and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She graduated with honors from Columbia University with a degree in neuroscience and behavior. Her passion for teaching began early as tutoring her younger brother sparked a lifelong interest in education and mentorship. At Columbia, she further developed this passion as a teaching assistant in multiple biology and psychology courses while also working at a neurobiology lab.

Claire is a medical student at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, where she recently completed her core clinical rotations, receiving honors in all seven rotations and their corresponding shelf exams. She passed Step 1 after a one-month dedicated study period and scored a 280 on Step 2 CK. Currently, she is completing a research year at NYU in the department of neurosurgery where she is studying novel therapeutic targets in glioblastoma.

With over a decade of tutoring experience, Claire has worked with students on the SAT, AP exams, MCAT, and USMLE. She has mentored pre-medical students throughout her education and is deeply committed to high-yield, individualized learning strategies and test-taking techniques. She believes that with the right structure and support, every student can build the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
Claire plans to apply to neurosurgery residency and pursue a career in academic medicine, where she hopes to combine her passions for clinical care, research, and teaching.

Outside of medicine, Claire enjoys walking her dog, reading, trying new recipes, going to concerts with friends, cheering on her brother at hockey games, and watching movies.
