Bio
Dane was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota with a degree in psychology. While attending the University of Minnesota, Dane worked as research assistant in the department of psychology and tutored organic chemistry for two years. After graduating, Dane worked as a surgical pathology technician and emergency medical scribe in Madison, Wisconsin, and as an outpatient internal medical scribe in Minneapolis, Minnesota prior to matriculating to the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. In medical school, Dane volunteers for student-staffed clinics in the greater Chicago area and tutors local Chicago Public School high schoolers. Dane is interested in otolaryngology and is currently on a research year focused on pediatric aerodigestive diseases and complications.
Dane achieved a 263 on USMLE Step 1, scored >96th percentile on his medicine and surgery shelf exams, and was awarded Honors in almost all his clinical rotations. He utilized a wide array of resources during his preclinical and clinical studying periods and is adept at helping learners utilize these resources efficiently. His tutoring style focuses on complimenting learners’ strengths with appropriate studying materials and instruction and working with learners to fine tune test-taking techniques. When he isn’t behind the computer, Dane likes to powerlift, cook, and go to weekly trivia with his friends.
