David studied visual art and sculpture at Paier College of Art in Connecticut from 2001 to 2005, during which time he studied abroad in Le Marche, Italy at Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo while working as an instructor. In 2010, he went on to earn his MFA in creative writing from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco where he interned for Small Press Traffic, a nonprofit that provides a platform for marginalized writers.
In 2014, David shifted into outreach, performing Point-in-Time counts to advance more complex data around at-risk populations for the Continuum of Care in Waterbury, Connecticut. Four years later, David began working in advocacy with the Center for Lyme Action (CLA). With the CLA, he has advocated for Lyme appropriations to Connecticut senators at virtual D.C. Fly-ins, which has increased funding three-fold. When David’s not working in advocacy, he is either advising promising students or earning credit toward his Master’s in counseling.
