Bio

Gavin was born in Canada and grew up in Los Angeles, California. He attended University of California, Berkeley, and was interested in computer science. He graduated with honors, and due to personal reasons, he decided to change his career path and pursue medicine. During his year off, Gavin scored >99 percentile on the MCAT and became an MCAT physics instructor for The Princeton Review. He was an instructor in classes of up to 30 pre-medical students, and he also had one-on-one tutoring. Many of his students have successfully achieved their dream scores on the MCAT.

Gavin was accepted into all the medical schools he interviewed with, and he ultimately decided to attend UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine to be close to his family. Taking his own experience with the medial school application cycle, he has continued to help students prepare for their MCAT, essays, and interviews. In medical school, Gavin scored >99 percentile on the Step 1 exam and expanded to tutoring for Step 1. He has been active in hematology oncology research during medical school, and he is completing a residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford University.

Altogether, Gavin has extensive teaching experience, and he has been able to identify effective learning strategies that are unique to each student. He is excited about helping students succeed and pursue their dreams. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, exploring the city, and spending time with family and friends.
