Ishaan Kumar graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a minor in chemistry. During his undergraduate career, Ishaan participated in vaccine hesitancy research, worked as an EMT, and served as the research manager at Duke’s medical 3D printing center. Currently, he is taking a gap year, which he is spending working at the Community Empowerment Fund, a local non-profit that sustains transitions out of homelessness and poverty.
During his time at Duke, Ishaan gained experience that enabled him to build a variety of teaching skills, including tutoring numerous students. He also co-designed and co-taught for-credit undergraduate courses on vaccine hesitancy and narrative medicine. He now adapts these skills to his students’ needs and learning styles. He is originally from London, England and enjoys visiting his family at home.
