Bio

Dr. Winterton graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Biochemistry, where he was heavily involved in basic science research investigating mouse models of bone marrow transplantation at the National Institutes of Health and characterizing the ultrastructural properties of HIV, projects which earned him distinction as a 2010 Barry M. Goldwater Scholar and 2011 Tylenol Future Care Scholar.

Dr. Winterton attended medical school at The University of Pennsylvania, initially as a combined degree MD/PhD student as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program. He completed his residency and surgical training at Stanford University, The University of Pennsylvania, and Rush University, where he advised students interested in medicine and served on the residency admissions committee. He has extensive experience mentoring students interested in pursuing admission to competitive medical schools and specialities. He is currently completing his MBA at The University of Chicago.
