Dr. Pettit hails from Las Vegas, Nevada. After a mission stint in San Francisco, he became fluent in Spanish. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a degree in Neuroscience. At BYU, he researched neurological pathways tied to addiction and earned a scholarship through a grant writing competition. Demonstrating academic excellence, he achieved a score in the 99th percentile on the MCAT, leading him to become a sought-after tutor. This academic prowess secured him a half-tuition scholarship at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
During his medical studies, Dr. Pettit volunteered as a Spanish interpreter at La Clinica Latina for uninsured patients. After an impressive score of 260 on Step 1, he mentored others, guiding a mentee to score in the 99th percentile. He contributed significantly to radiation oncology and dermatology research. His outstanding achievements led to his induction into the Landacre Research Society and Alpha Omega Alpha, as well as earning him multiple scholarships. Presently, Dr. Pettit is a second-year dermatology resident at Ohio State with aspirations to join a private practice.
